Dear friends,

I hope you all enjoyed the holiday season and had a wonderful and calm Christmas time. I have been more or less hiding from the world during the last 10 days, getting back some peace of mind that was very well needed.
Being busy and productive and taking care of things is great but there has to be a balance between working and relaxing. Now I feel very fresh and energized again and ready to take over the world ;)

First demo snap online!

Hi there!

So here is the first demo snap of my upcoming album "Winter eyes". You'll listen to the first part of the freshly re-recorded "Victim of a Miracle". The new arrangement has been made by Tom Shevchuk (UK) who will also produce the whole new album.

Does this sound familiar to you? It surely does to me....I tend to overthink things too much instead of just doing it. How to find the fine line between being careless (and only doing without thinking) and being too much brain-driven? I'm still trying.

gloomy autumn

Hey there!

I've not been updating regularly so I thought I'd just give a little info on what I have been up to lately.

The weeks since my return from vacation were horribly busy. You can imagine what a 2 weeks-absence causes in a pretty occupied law firm. But I must thank my colleagues for their support, they did the best to save me from drowning into papers at my office ;)

Many court proceedings during the last 3 months of the year and I'm on the road a lot. What I hate most about that are those disrespectful, aggressive cardrivers who act like crazy. Don't they realize that they are not at a fun park but in traffic and what they do can hurt them and others?? Arggh, I could go on endlessly about that.

The album is in the making and we decided a different title than the working title "Time has come - finally". I will reveal it very soon and I hope you will like it as much as we do!

So, Tom and the guys are recording the instruments to a brand new version of "Time has come" right now while I lay down vocals to a much improved "Victim of a Miracle". You are going to hear a demo of it hopefully soon, bit of an album teaser.

Back from vacation

Hi!

Just arrived back home from my 2 weeks vacation in beautiful Turkey. It was wonderful but much too short ;( Now back to reality again, that's always hard....

In our law office there are lots of court dates the next 3 weeks so I guess I will be pretty occupied. Furthermore, the recording sessions for my next album will start in the first week of October, really really looking forward to that!!

I'll keep you updated with some demo snaps, I hope you'll like them.

Busy Indian summer days

Hey!

The last weeks have been rather hectic and the next one will be, too. In the law firm I'm working (my "day job") there is a lot of work during this time of the year, as the courts finish their summer break and hearing dates are flooding around. But it's still a great kind of work, although at the moment I instantly fall asleep as soon as I get home ;)

But nevertheless, the album production is starting to get "a face" as you say in german. I have teamed up with a wonderful studio in the UK who have a similiar vision of the overall sound as I have. The album will not be just a sequel to the previous one as originally planned, but a complete new production with several re-recorded songs. And greatly re-arranged!

I will upload some bits and snaps of the demos during the recording process, I hope you will enjoy them.

What else can be told? I'm looking very forward to my vacation which will start on September 6th :D Summer, sun, beach, SILENCE.

Monday, Monday...

So this is what it's gonna be tomorrow again....blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. :) Let's enjoy the rest of this sunny Sunday then!!

New demo almost finished!

Hi!

So as I said in my last post, I'm working on my follow-up-album at the moment. A first demo is (almost) finished, the song is called "No more". It is again a collaboration with Svante Lahti from Sweden who also co-wrote "Judgement Day". It will be a dark, heavy power ballad and I am especially satisfied with the lyrics I came up with ;) I will upload the demo song onto Youtube soon so stay tuned!

As for enjoying the summer.....I never really understood the hype about this time of the year. Maybe because I tend to getting dizzy starting at 30° Celsius. Maybe because neither my office nor my recording studio are air-conditioned. Maybe because I'm just more of a winter type ;) The only exception is the annual summer vacation to the south - when the beach and the sea are close, the heat is just fine :)

I wish you a beautiful and hopefully not-so-hot day! (In Austria, it is steaming hot since WEEKS. Duh....)

New album is coming!

Hey!

I want to let you all know that last weekend, I've decided to finally start working on my second album.

My debut album "Time has come" received some outstanding reviews, more than I would have ever thought of, and I'm very grateful for that. Nevertheless, production-wise there had been some weaknesses that I want to eliminate this time. In concrete, I plan to re-record some album highlights with a complete new arrangement, more "rocky" and edgier, with way more guitars and strong drums.

In addition to that, I have written several new songs that wil also be on the next record. So to say, it might be a mix of re-recorded existing songs aswell as new compositions. All of them packed into a better arrangement.

Since it will therefore be kind of a "sequel" to my previous record, I have given it the working title "Time has come...finally." (Yes, I love the Pirates of the Carribean-movies ;))

Let me know what you think and which songs you would like to have re-recorded??

Fitness with Zuzka Light

Hey!

I hope you all enjoy your weekend! I had a nice evening with friends yesterday, today I forced myself through this workout - although I gave up after the 3rd round ;)

Single = lonely??

I stumbled upon this saying and I must say, it's true, at least for me. I'm single since quite a while but I'm not lonely; on the other hand I was very unhappy at many times during a relationship (which actually leads to great songs, so even a good thing comes out of here ;) )

Airpower 2013!

On June 28th, I was honoured to be a VIP guest at the austrian Airpower 2013 - festival in Styria. It was a really spectacular airshow with participants all over Europe. Stunning!

Midsummer, celtic festival and other cool things

Hello,
How have you all been doing through this first half of the year? I've been overly busy working in this law firm (yes, Sonja has to work a civil job, too ;)) but it's a wonderful work. Sometimes hard, but often you have the feeling you can really change something, for someone.

The hard side is that too much stress takes away energy for creative activities! (That's why this blog had been pretty abandomned...)

But I want to start now sharing all those small and big happenings with you guys, and I hope you will share yours with me, too!

I've celebrated Midsummer at the celtic festival in Schwarzenbach on Saturday and it was outstanding. Few know that the first celtic people have lived here in Burgenland, Austria. The bands who have been playing really rocked the place, especially THE MAHONES (irish punk) from Canada. Thanks for the signed T-Shirt, guys! ;)

The highlight was of course the large bonfire that literally hypnotized me. It cleaned all the mess out of me, all this stress and negativeness I've been surrounded with during the last weeks. I am finally energized and relaxed again.

HAPPY 2013!

Hello everybody!

I hope you all had a good start into the new year.

One of my New Year's resolutions was to finally start a blog and share some stuff with you all. But I have to admit that I was never a passionate diary writer so this is all kinda new for me ;) Let's see how this turns out.

So, this blog is obviously still under construction and I hope to find out how to add some fancy elements soon :) The title has been in my mind for a longer while because I love the silent winter landscapes, fairytales and old mystics. Maybe it will even be an album title somewhen in the future, who knows??
