Seerock festival 2014!

Hi folks!

So I'm freshly back from the Seerock festival in Graz and what can I say? It was a f*cking blast!!! So many great bands and me stuck in the front row ;)

Among my personal highlights were:

Sabaton
Status Quo
Blind Guardian
Saxon

But the greatest experience definitely was TWISTED SISTER. They haven't been to Austria for 30 years and I must admit, I've never seen an show like theirs before. A league of its own really. Dee Snider is one hell of a frontman!

Some impressions from our crowd going crazy:

And "we" are very proud that the band has been thanking us with this banner ;)

Hopefully until next time!!!

Sonata Arctica @Szene Wien, May 2nd 2014

On Friday I attended the long-awaited Sonata Arctica concert in Vienna. It was one of the best gigs I've ever been at....no joking! The guys were in top form and delivered a high-energy performance with a brilliant mix of classic and new songs. The day after, I was hoarse and had blue hand palms from all the clapping ;)

The support band "Trick or Treat" had been unfamiliar to me but I was amazingly surprised, what a phantastic band - if you are into Power Metal, you should definitely check them out!

Here are some pics of me and Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica) aswell as with Alessandro Conti and Luca Setti (Trick or Treat):

This was the setlist:

Little impression of the concert (not filmed by me, I needed my hands for clapping - see above ;))

New month, new nomination!

Hello my friends!

Time for a little update =)
The past months have been pretty hectic - working hard in the law firm, working hard on the new record, treats in form of travels to Turkey and Prague. Oh, and making myself a new home which took lots of administration work (which I always hate LOL)

Then in March, my oldest kittie (13 years) got really sick and I thought I'd lose her...thanks to God she is fine again. But knowing that she may fall sick anytime again doesn't make one feel too happy...

The good news:
Now I have been informed that I am again nominated for the Starliners Indie Award 2014 and I desperately need YOUR help! Please vote for me right here:

Thanks so much! Until next time (Maybe I'll finally load up some recent pics!)

Iron Maiden's connection to my new album!! NEWSFLASH!!

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am glad to announce that the CustomBacking team have enrolled the services of the brilliant lead guitarist John Slater.
John will be playing lead solo’s on some of my songs.
John has toured Europe extensively, and after the singer Blaze Bailey did his short two album stint with Iron Maiden, Blaze formed his own band and toured Europe, the US and South America. John Slater was one of his lead guitarists.
Many thanks to Tom Shevchuk from CustomBacking, for bringing John in, and of course many thanks to John Slater.
For the songs that John will be playing on, all will be revealed in due course. Exciting times ahead, watch this space.

Here are some pics of the brilliant John Slater in "action":

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Dear friends,

I hope you all enjoyed the holiday season and had a wonderful and calm Christmas time. I have been more or less hiding from the world during the last 10 days, getting back some peace of mind that was very well needed.
Being busy and productive and taking care of things is great but there has to be a balance between working and relaxing. Now I feel very fresh and energized again and ready to take over the world ;)

So, I wish you all a happy and blessed 2014! May all your wishes come true.

So, have fun tonight and stay safe!

~Sonja~

P.S.: Some really AMAZING news about my new album will be revealed during the next days. What does the album have to do with Iron Maiden?? I'll tell you soon ;))

Hi there!

So here is the first demo snap of my upcoming album "Winter eyes". You'll listen to the first part of the freshly re-recorded "Victim of a Miracle". The new arrangement has been made by Tom Shevchuk (UK) who will also produce the whole new album.
I hope you'll like this demo and stay tuned for more! :)
